Happy Birthday yohjideranged! I hope you're having a great day! :D

I need to get into finals mode, I have five papers to write before the end of the month. But I enjoy procrastination...I even made a poupeegirl account, does anyone else have one? Whoever thought up that site is a genius, it's like fashion crack.

I hope you're all doing well, I can't believe it's almost May. I seriously need to find a job.
There's an AMAZING 8-bit reworking of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog floating around the internet, and it's absolutely worth watching. Reminds me of my good ol' Pokemon days.

It was so hot here today, it's almost 10 and it's like a sauna in the room. D:

I found out a girl I know watches Merlin too! \o/ I'll be living in the same house as her next year, so I'm sure wacky hijinks will ensue in September.

I'm also watching Spirited Away (late to the party much?), as I only caught the end on TV once. It's so ridiculously charming, I can barely handle it. I love the way Miyazaki can create such compelling worlds with wonderful characters and beautiful storytelling. AND TITO FROM THE WEEKENDERS IS HAKU'S VOICE IN THE DUB A+ DISNEY. I'm also thinking of watching Eurkea Seven, I think all of it is on YouTube. And I reallyreallyreally want to have a giant Sailor Moon marathon over the summer, because it's been waaaaaay too long.

Not too much going on, Easter break starts on Friday, which I'm happy about. Easter is so early this year! I hope you're all doing well!

Albrecht Dürer is one fine Northern Renaissance painter. And portraying the artist's role as one akin to Christ is fantastically badass. I hope I get to use this tag again.

...Back to studying.

I just bought Beyond Good and Evil off of Steam, and I have half a mind to order No More Heroes from Amazon.

One week until spring break, just need to survive five more days! Only possibly dangerous midterm is my History of Western Art one, I'm awful at memorizing dates.

Watching the Oscars, I like how surreal it is when all of these crazy famous celebrities are in one big room and are interacting with each other.

WHY WAS I NOT AWARE OF MANGA SHAKESPEARE. I want Richard III in manga form, that is just genius. Shakespeare's comedies would work nicely within the usual shoujo tropes, though. I have no idea how to feel about this.

The Princess and the Frog will be out on DVD next month! Under the cut is "Friends on the Other Side," DVD quality. It's probably my favorite song, but this movie has grown on me so much since I saw it. I also recommend the reprise, but that involves some major spoilers for the end of the movie.

Also under the cut is a clip from the movie The Secret of Kells, which I watched the other day (you might know it as "that other movie nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars"). Ohmygodohmygod I LOVED IT. Gorgeously animated with such a unique style that really fit the movie's concept, with fantastic characters and a wonderful story. I've heard talk about a US release, but being so close to the actual Oscars, I'm guessing it'll be a limited one. But if you get a chance to see it, PLEASE DO!

That's an echo, gentlemen.Collapse )

I'm thinking about ditching Art History classes for a little and taking Digital Animation I next year. I need both for my Digital Media major, but I'm almost definitely going to be in school for an extra year, so what the hell. If I was actually good at drawing, I would love to be an animator, but I don't think I have the discipline for it. I would also kill to be on the story team at an animation studio, but I have no idea how to get into that.

I've been pretty busy these days, but the snow keeps messing my schedule/attempt at a structured routine up. I really need to do research for one of my professors, I haven't seen her in almost two weeks and I feel awful about it.

I hope you are all doing well! I apologize for my extremely lame commenting skills.

I've seen this being circulated on a bunch of video game sites, it's all the Pokemon from Red/Blue and Silver/Gold drawn as if they were taken from traditional Japanese art (think Okami). It's gorgeously drawn and they way some of them are interpreted is just fantastic, so I thought I'd pass it along. I haven't played since Ruby/Sapphire, but I was relieved to find out that I recognized all of the ones drawn!

Awesome news on the Merlin front - the Season One DVD box set is being released in the USA in April, and Season Two will be also be on SyFy then, after a recap the previous season in March (which was previously on NBC last summer). I'll definitely be buying Season One! :D

Managed to survive the first week of classes, and onto the second! Lots of reading this semester, but I guess I asked for it, with three lit classes.

I was so sad watching Conan O'Brien's last episode of the Tonight Show last Friday, I'm a ridiculously huge fan of his, he's always been my favorite late-night talk show host.

I bought LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias off of WiiWare a few days ago, I forgot just how charming the game is (I guess it's a series now?), the world is so soft and beautiful and the little guy you lead around the world, Toku, is probably the most adorable silent video game hero ever. The first game was short, but for $10, I really can't complain about the game's episodic format.
I also got Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't played any of the games on the DS, so I was happy to hear Capcom was porting them to the Wii. I love visual novel/adventure games like this and Hotel Dusk, and I had a great time playing it. Now I'm waiting for the second game to show up in March, and the fifth case from the first game's DS release in May. :D
I have a bunch of video games I still haven't finished, it's kind of embarassing - Okami in particular, I got frustrated with the brush controls and sort of gave up, I should really try again. :/

I am so pissed about what's happening to Conan O'Brien and this whole Tonight Show debacle. I am a huge Conan fan, and I am so mad that NBC is so willingly screwing him over. Ugh.

Back to school on Monday, classes start on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to seeing how my classes and professors turn out, hopefully everything will go well. I can't believe it's second semester already!

I apologize for being an awful commenter. I have no excuse, I have been so lazy these past few days. I hope you all have a great weekend! ♥

I've been downloading BL games, what a productive way to spend my break! :/ Had to fiddle with the files and a few programs to get things working, but I think I've figured it out. I'm starting out with Nitro+Chiral's games, they seem to have a good amount of resources in English and are gorgeously illustrated. I pretty much click click click away, stare at pretty CGs, and then guesstimate where the story is going from what I know.

I saw Avatar today! Some thoughts under the cut, in case of spoilers.

Another wall of text.Collapse )

I hope you all had a great December! I can't believe it's going to be 2010...!
